Para-Monte @ BASES Conference
TheBASES Conference now 30 years old, was held at Anglia RuskinUniversity this year.
Dr Ash Willmott, working at A.R.U as Director of Research for CCSES & Senior Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Sciences as well as a P-M trustee, encouraged Para-Monte to have a presence.
You may ask why BASES,the reason being to be a beneficial platform, representing five divisions: Biomechanics and Motor Behaviour; Physiology and Nutrition; Psychology; Physical Activity for Health and Sport and Performance, all interlink to Altitude.
University of Brighton, Environmental Extremes Lab colleagues: Billy Norton, Gregor Eichhorn and Mark Hayes as well as four graduate and undergraduate students presenting their work accompanied Jeannet to the conference.
The two day conference was an outstanding event. Our stand, close to one of the main lecture theatres for keynote speakers from around the country, displayed the P-M banner, leaflets, pens and showed our Para-Monte film.
Delegates and students visited our stand and we met up with former research A.R.U students(papers on our website)as well as making new connections, like: Kevin @ ‘Sporting Edge’, providing altitude chambers to various universities in the country. All visitors alike were keen to listen and everyone supported spreading the Altitude Awareness message.
Para-Monte likes to extend our appreciation to the BASES, ARU & UoB (EEL) teams and students for making our first conference such a successful event.
