Collaboration through a signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and Para-Monte, led by Dr Ash Willmott, for undergraduate and postgraduate students from across the School of Psychology and Sport Science secured an on-going partnership.
This is part of ARU's wider “Learning through Experience” project, led by ARU staff (Drs Ash Willmott and Justin Roberts) and senior student ambassador (Alicia Diment), where students become ambassadors and volunteer their time to produce some amazing pieces of research/work for our altitude awareness charity.
The ARU team and Para-Monte will continue this new partnership going into 2021, with numerous experimental studies planned and educational lectures to be provided to the student cohort and wider community.
The website is dedicated to Adam our son and brother, a fit healthy 25 year old young man, who lost his life to Altitude Sickness whilst travelling in Peru.
Adam’s loss should not be in vain (read his story) and we feel extremely passionate to spread the word about Altitude Illnesses globally, to ensure that people become more aware of the risks and dangers at altitude.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes served in the British Army for eight years, including a period on counter-insurgency service while attached to the Army of the Sultanate of Oman.
He later undertook numerous expeditions and was the first person to visit both the North and South Poles by surface means and the first to completely cross Antarctica on foot.
In May 2009, at the age of 65, he climbed to the summit of Mount Everest.
